Dear Family and Friends,

I would like to take this opportunity to show how much we appreciate the outpouring of support and love from all of you.  This is just a little tribute to share with you about Danny who will forever live in our hearts.

Danny was born in Nov 27, 1994 and was such a gifted child in many ways.  He was a gifted student that was always busy thinking but a bit clumsy.  He was on the Principal’s Honor Roll at South Olive Elementary School, earning straight A’s.

Danny followed in his brother’s footsteps and entered BAK Middle School of the Arts. He was as a theater student and found his favorite role on the back stage holding ropes or closing curtains where he could use his muscles. He was an honor student and received high scores on the FCAT (5 in reading and math and 6 in writing).

Danny had always focused solely on academics in school, but decided try athletics in high school and try out for football. At that time, football was not a new sport to Danny, since he had played football at the WCFL since he was 5 years old.  The summer before starting high school he worked out like crazy.  His athletic abilities weren’t strong when he began training, but his determination and hard work paid off and transformed him into a great athlete. His determination and positive attitude inspired all the coaches and players at school.

Danny had a natural writing ability. He had a strong ability in math, chemistry and civics and was also nature lover. But most of all his faith in God was his biggest strength and the most recognized memory of him.  Since he was a toddler he learned how to pray before eating and going to sleep. Family and friends remember how he loved eating Granny Smith apples, reading books, spending time with friends and how he would always say ”thank you” and “please”, even in his own home.

When we received the final property belonging to Danny we found a few writings in his backpack. Danny believed what John Winthrop's Sermon “City Upon a Hill” conveys: That communities should love one another with a pure heart fervently and help each other out and be there for one another and bear one another’s burdens.  Danny had the same belief about death as the poem “Thanatopsis” by William Bryant; that death is a graceful transition in which the earth claims your soul and body and gives back to nature.

In another of Danny’s papers “Life is Beautiful” from “A Psalm of Life” by Longfellow.  Danny believed that life is more than just life and death and instead of just surviving and waiting for our time to run out we should go make something of our lives. Quoting the poem: “We can make our lives sublime, and departing, leave behind us Footprints on the sands of time” Danny felt that we should live our life to the fullest and make something beautiful out of it.

Danny was a normal teenager who was always surrounded by so many different friends. He felt comfortable will all groups including academic students, popular athletes, students with addiction problems, artistic students and country lovers. He accepted people for who they were and found the wisdom to help them whenever they needed it the most. That is why he will be missed and loved forever in our hearts.
